For people who come to the ashram and are keen to explore the town of Udupi, there are several recreational options to try from the very famous Shri Krishna temple and many other iconic temples to other famous places of worship for the religious and historic bent of mind. For the nature lover the coastal town is lined with beautiful beaches that one can comb or stroll from Malpe to Kappu to the now famous ‘Blue flag’ certified Padubidri beach and the enjoyable walk on the promenade at the Malpe beach. If one wants to explore further one can visit the St. Mary’s island on boats from Malpe beach which is known for its unique volcanic basalt rocks formed since millions of years. For the adventure junkie the coast now has many water surfing resorts and centres where one can either visit or learn the sport through a course.
The lively small town of Manipal is very close to Udupi. Youngsters from around the globe come here to study various courses in the medical and other professional colleges. Manipal is studded with interesting dinning options like multicuisine restaurants, cafes and shops of various kinds for people who want to indulge in retail therapy.

With the distance of about 400 kms from Bangalore, Udupi can be reached by car rides or through several day and night time buses that ply between both the cities.
By Train
Udupi is reachable by trains from around the country, the details of which are available on IRCTC website. The train station is in Indrali near Udupi.
By Air
Udupi is connected by air from across the country through various flights. The main airport is near Mangalore city which is 55kms away.
